(Eagle News)–Former Davao Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte wished his father, President Rodrigo Duterte, good health as he celebrates his 74th birthday on Thursday, March 28.
“Hinaot nga kanunay ka nga anaa sa maayong panglawas aron sab nga makapadayon ka sa pagserbisyo sa katawhan. (May you always have good health so that you may continue your service for the people),” the presidential son said in a Facebook post.
The former vice mayor also thanked his father for taking the time for them despite his busy schedule.
The younger Duterte assured his father he and his sister, Davao Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, would defend him against his critics.
“Take a break once in a while, just leave the people who pretend to be bright to Inday! Hehehe and the crazy ones leave them to me!” he said.
“We love you Pa!” he added.
The Palace has said the President would spend his birthday this year with his family in Davao without fanfare, as in the past.
In 2018, Duterte was seen spending his 73rd birthday with his grandchildren.
