Parañaque City inks sisterhood agreement with South Korea’s Haeundae-gu

PARAÑAQUE CITY, Sept. 8 (PIA) — Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez, and Mayor Baek Sun Ki of Haeundae District in eastern Busan, South Korea signed a sisterhood agreement on Friday 4 September 2015, at the Parañaque City Hall.

Under the agreement,   the two cities sall pursue and expand cooperation on various areas such as  economy, culture, sports, tourism, education and other fields “in pursuit of the best interests for both parties.”

In a statement, Olivarez said the agreement between Parañaque and Busan will work both ways and will pave the way for a greater and broader cooperation not only between the two cities but hopefully for the two countries as well.

The agreement also states that the two cities will maintain an open line of communication and both parties shall appoint focal persons who would promote the programs and initiatives relative to the sisterhood agreement.

In addition, there will also be constant exchanges of invitations during the celebrations of special holidays and festivals to further enhance the cultural ties between the two cities. (Parañaque PIO/RJB/MAPA/PIA-NCR)
