Kabataan party-list Rep. Terry Ridon is asking Congress to take note of his proposed bill seeking to create a regulatory board that will look into the tuition fee increases in private schools. The private school fee regulation Act of 2013 was proposed in July last year, along with other members of the so-called Makabayan bloc, but it has yet to gain ground in Congress.
“The legislative branch cannot sit idly as the cost of education rises dramatically beyond the reach of the ordinary Filipino. Congress needs to prioritize this bill for the sake of thousands of languishing students and parents,” Ridon said.
The bill aims to create a private school fee regulatory board where all tuition fee applications will be processed.
