Superstar free agent Paul George has decided to remain with the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
George will sign a 4-year max contract deal worth $137 million with a player option on the third year.
Gabe Ikard, a well-known OKC supporter, also posted a video of George attending teammate Russell Westbrook’s party on Twitter saying “I am here to stay.” which led to a rapturous cheers from the crowd.
This news is a big blow to the ambitions of the Los Angeles Lakers to form a superteam composed of Lebron James, current Spurs Kawhi Leonard and George.
The Lakers are now reportedly eyeing New Orleans Pelicans big man Demarcus Cousins who is also a free agent.
