QUEZON City, Philippines (September 29) – “We pay for less”. Consumers who diligently pay their monthly dues for internet connection deserves the best service and the fastest internet access.
Internet connection is a must in our advance technology era. This is why many companies lure their consumers through internet packages that sometimes come with a tablet or a phone as freebie and gives them assurance for a fast internet access. But it seems that the result is not what the people are expecting.
The demand for internet connection is continuously rising while the quality and good service is declining. Many consumers complain about slow internet access, even Sen.Legarda experienced this as she voiced it out in the hearing of Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship last year. It only proves that slow internet connection can happen to anyone regardless of their social status.
According to the Internet World Stats, China is at top when it comes in using internet and the Philippines is ranked in the 14th place globally. However Internet metrics provider Ookla, found out in their household download index that Philippines is the 2nd country in Asia who has slowest internet connection following Afghanistan
Internet companies are not the only one responsible for our slow internet connection. There are also other factors that affect it, like the problems in our device that can also interrupt our internet accessibility and external factor such as traffic jams on busy website, computer virus or weather.
At a consumers point of view, it is very disappointing how we spend our money for some slow internet connection that loses its signal at peak time and every single time it rains. But as we all know, there is nothing we can do about it but complain.
