MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Basketball Association is expecting to set a new attendance record for an indoor arena on Sunday when it opens its season at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
The Philippine Arena, touted as the world’s largest mixed-use indoor theater, has a maximum capacity of 55,000. It opened in July, during the centennial celebration of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, placing the Philippines in the map of architectural wonders.
Fans will get a chance to watch the PBA opening on October 19, as Jam Liner, a bus company, has offered free rides to the Philippine Arena. It said as many as 200 buses will be provided to ferry fans to the event. Stubs for the free ride will be distributed starting Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Cubao and Buendia terminals of the bus liner.
