(Eagle News)–The Philippine Coast Guard rescued ten people from a fishing boat that nearly sank off Cebu on Monday, May 10.
The PCG said it sent a search and rescue (SAR) team to waters in Hagutapay Wharf, Camotes following a report from a concerned citizen.
According to the PCG, Ronald Fabroa had set off with his fishing boat, together with nine passengers, including three children, towards Barangay Puertobello in Tudela around 4 a.m. when the boat started sinking slowly.
PCG Station Camotes said the vessel could only ride a passenger.
The ten rescued individuals were brought to the coast of Sitio Lower Saura, Barangay Puertobello to be given medical assistance.
The PCG said Fabroa was sent to the PCG Station Camotes to undergo further investigation about the incident.
