(Eagle News) — Expect a substantive State of the Nation Address from President Rodrigo Duterte next week.
“Abangan niyo po ang SONA ng Pangulo dahil ito ay magiging malaman, lalo’t batid naman natin na marami siyang naaccomplish,” Presidential Communications Operations Office head Martin Andanar said in a radio interview.
Andanar did not say what exactly the President would say, however, only noting that it was the chief executive’s “discretion” to say what he wanted to say.
“We can’t really say kung ano ang sasabihin ng Pangulo sa SONA,” he said, noting that the President was “passionate” about many issues.
He added, however, that based on last year’s speech, “we can assume na baka si Presidente ay mag-adlib.”
Andanar said his office was set to release a documentary that would detail Duterte’s accomplishments throughout the year next week.
Around 6,000 government security personnel are set to be deployed in the vicinity of Batasan in time for the President’s nationally televised speech on July 24.
