An official of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) yesterday said that the MILF peace agreement between the governments need not be approved by the senate.
Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Vice Chairman Ghazali Jaafar said in an interview yesterday that the approval of the peace deal is not essential.
“Ang uri ng kasunduan na nilagdaan ng MILF at pamahalaan ay isang excecutive agreement at hindi treaty,” Jaafar said.
This is his reaction to the statement of Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago that President Aquino should ask for the Senate’s approval before negotiating the creation of Bangsamoro Government.
He also said that, the creation of Bangsamoro Government was part of the agreement of MILF and the government as they see it to be the key to solve many problems in Mindanao.
