(Eagle News) — Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said that PhilHealth members do not have to pay for treatment of firecracker-related injuries.
“Para doon naman sa hindi miyembro ng PhilHealth ay sasagutin din ng DOH ang gastusin nila sa pamamaraan ng medical assistance program. So wala po silang dapat alalahanin. Wala dapat silang problema patungkol sa kanilang gastusin. Ang importante po gumaling sila sa lalong madaling panahon,” he said in a press briefing.
The DOH and Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that from December 21, 2017 to January 1, 2018, 191 firecracker-related injuries and one stray bullet case were recorded.
