Probability of quake higher than 6.1 magnitude from same source “low,” though, PHIVOLCS says
(Eagle News)—The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has recorded over 1000 aftershocks since a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Central Luzon on April 22.
PHIVOLCS said all in all, there have been 1053 aftershocks.
According to PHIVOLCS, the “probability of an earthquake higher than 6.1 (magnitude) to occur from the same source was low,” however.
At least 16 people were killed and over 80 were injured after the earthquake hit Castillejos, Zambales at 5:11 pm.
Pampanga was the hardest-hit province.
