The Filipina nurse who was found to be positive for the dreaded Middle East Respiratory Syndrome –Coronavirus (Mers-COV) has now been cleared of the virus, according to the Department of Health.
According to acting health secretary Janet Garin, the pregnant Filipina nurse was discharged on Friday morning from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
Garin said the nurse had undergone three succeeding tests every other day. All showed negative results.
She was advised to go on a 10-day home quarantine as part of protocol.
Garin said that the Philippines is now Mers-Cov free, now that the Filipina nurse had been cleared of the deadly virus. (Eagle News Service)
