(Eagle News) — The Philippines is among nine countries to benefit from a $100-million aid from the United Nations.
Apart from the Philippines, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Tanzania, Cameroon, Mali, Eritrea, Haiti and Pakistan could avail of the funding that will be sourced from the Central Emergency Fund from the UN in 2018.
The Philippines will be sharing $13 million with Mali for relief operations stemming from internal strife in the country.
“In these crises, CERF funds will enable UN agencies and their partners to carry out essential life-saving activities, and contribute to longer-term resilience and stability,” UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.
