QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Presidential Spokesman Atty. Harry Roque said that the government was looking at other countries where Overseas Filipino Workers repatriated from Kuwait could go.
Roque said that Oman and Bahrain were two countries that were being considered.
“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has given priority to the right to life of our OFWs and will not allow further inhumane treatment to be inflicted on our OFW’s in Kuwait,” Roque said in a statement.
He said repatriated workers “will receive financial assistance from the OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration)…”
Russia and China are also being considered by the government.
