(Eagle News)–Senate President Koko Pimentel on Sunday bared his own senatorial bets for the 2019 elections.
In announcing the inclusion of Senators JV Ejercito, Cynthia Villar, Sonny Angara, Nancy Binay and Grace Poe in a possible PDP-Laban senatorial ticket, Pimentel appeared to have taken heed of Ejercito’s earlier complaint members of the Senate majority were left out of Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez’s own lineup.
Alvarez, PDP-Laban secretary general, had said possibly included in a PDP-Laban list were Pimentel, former Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chair Francis Tolentino, Rep. Geraldine Roman, Rep. Karlo Nograles, Rep. Rey Umali, Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson and Rep. Alfredo Benitez.
Pimentel included in his list himself, Go, Roman, Roque, Tolentino, Nograles, Mangudadatu, and Umali.
He said also being considered was Taguig City Rep. Pia Cayetano.
“Nothing is final. Pag na-finalize natin ang senatorial slate ng partido kokonsultahin natin si Presidente,” he said in an interview over dzbb.
Earlier, Ejercito said he hoped Pimentel would “fight” for “his main constituents, the senators,” who he said have been “very supportive of the administration.”
