(Eagle News) — The postponement of barangay elections will most likely not push through.
This was after Senate President Koko Pimentel said that the passage of a counterpart bill in the Senate was no longer possible.
Earlier the House of Representatives approved on third and final reading a measure deferring the polls originally slated in May.
According to Pimentel, the Congress is slated to go on a break on March 24.
It will resume session on May 14, which means there was no time to discuss the same, Pimentel said.
“(Therefore the) postponement of barangay elections has no chance anymore in the Senate,” he said in a message to reporters.
