QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) – The transport group Pinagkaisang Samahan ng Mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide (Piston) is set to conduct another transport strike on Monday, March 19.
The transport strike will be held in Novaliches, Cubao in Quezon City, Monumento in Caloocan City, Manila and Alabang, Muntinlupa as well as in Rizal, Cavite and Bulacan.
Rallies will also be conducted in nearby provinces.
The transport strike is said to be the continuation of the group’s protest against the jeepney modernization program of the government.
The group pointed out that the modernization program was anti-poor.
