(Eagle News) – The Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide has denied that the two-day transport strike it launched starting today, October 12, was part of a destabilization plot against the Duterte administration.
Piston National President George San Mateo made the statement in response to a pronouncement made by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to that effect.
According to San Mateo, the government only wants to divert the public’s attention from the issue— the public utility vehicle modernization program against which many associations, he said, were against.
Earlier, several transport groups expressed their support for the government’s program that will see jeepneys at least 15 years old phased out.
