President Aquino led the “Araw ng Kagitingan” commemoration rites today.
The president was given full military honors upon his arrival at the Bantayog ng Mga Bayani at Mt. Samat, Pilar, Bataan, which was led by Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Gregorio Pio Catapang.
This was then followed by messages from the Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Kazuhide Ishikawa, US Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Philip Goldberg and President Aquino’s speech.
In his speech, President Aquino promised that the government will continue to provide for the needs and the benefits needed by our war veterans.
