(Eagle News) – The Philippine National Police said so far, almost 8000 barangays were included in its list of election hotspots.
PNP Spokesperson Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao said that as of May 6, 2018, the 7,915 barangays were in that category because of the presence of election-related violence.
The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has the largest number of hotspots with 1,415 barangays; followed by Bicol Region with 1,304; and by Soccsksargen with 661.
Bulalacao gave the assurance, however, that the 7915 was only 10 percent of the over 42,000 barangays in the country.
