PNP confirms terror threat in Central Visayas, after US issues travel advisory

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa confirmed that there were terror threats in Central Visayas following the advisory of the United States Embassy in Manila.

Dela Rosa said that he was informed by Region VII PNP Regional Director Police Chief Superintendent Noli Pariño about the terror threats.
He said that the PNP is now taking actions on the said threat.

The US Embassy on Sunday, April 9 issued a travel advisory, warning its citizens to avoid visiting the region.

“U.S. citizens are advised to carefully consider this information as you make your travel plans, and to review personal security plans, avoid large crowds and gatherings, and remain vigilant at all times,” the advisory said.
