QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Philippine National Police Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido, Chief of Police of Ozamiz City, denied allegations that they planted evidence against the Parojinog family.
“Planted lahat ng iyan… Tinapunan pa kami ng granada para akala namin puputok. Lumabas pa kami ng bahay, pasok ulit,” Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog alleged during an interview with the reporters.
Espenido also said that those in the Parojinog compound were the first to fire gunshots, resulting in a shoot-out between the Parojinog camp and the police.
The PNP also denied the allegations made by the vice mayor that the CCTV cameras in their house were cut and that the hard disks were taken by the raiding team to hide the irregularities allegedly committed during the raid.
“Basta kung walang irregularity…’di nila dapat tinanggal ang hard discs ng mga CCTV namin, wala pong nagpaputok from our end,” the Vice Mayor claimed.
But Espenido said that authorities did not get the hard disks from the CCTV and that they remained “intact” and were not removed from the cameras.
However, he clarified that they only cut the CCTV cameras in the compound to protect the identity of some of their agents and not for any other reason..
