(Eagle News)–The Philippine National Police has intensified efforts to run after rice hoarders, the Philippine National Police said on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde made announcement amid what critics allege was a rice crisis that saw an increase in the prices of rice.
“Kung meron man talagang shortage, ‘yan ay due to hoarding. May possibility na nasa warehouse lang ang mga ‘yan, ‘di nila inilalabas, mag-aantay na magtaas ang presyo. Kaya pinaigting natin ang ating intelligence gathering,” Albayalde said.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, President Rodrigo Duterte said he would open up Sabah “if worse comes to worst.”
The President also announced he was scouting for a new National Food Authority administrator following Jason Aquino’s request he be allowed to step down from his post.
