(Eagle News)–The bullet that hit Tanauan, Batangas Mayor Antonio Halili disintegrated upon impact, the Philippine National Police said on Tuesday, July 3.
In an interview over GMA7’s Unang Balita, Chief Supt. Edward Carranza, Calabarzon director, said, however, that police were trying to determine the gun used to kill the mayor through an analysis of the bullet jacket recovered from him.
The police also found a bullet shell in the area.
According to Carranza, so far, they were reviewing footage from closed-circuit television camera in the area where the crime was committed.
“Pinare-review po namin kung anuman ‘yung pick-up ng mga CCTV sa likod po ng kalsada ng masukal na lugar na ‘yan,” he said.
The police has said they were looking at the possibility Halili’s killing was linked to his walk of shame campaign.
President Rodrigo Duterte, who included the mayor in his narcolist, said it could be because of his supposed involvement in the drug trade.
