(Eagle News) — The Philippine National Police took part in a nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill that was held in Camp Crame on Thursday afternoon, August 16.
This activity, the third quake drill for the third quarter of the year, was participated in by uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of the PNP.
The drill is part of the government’s campaign to promote education and create awareness among the public in case a magnitude 7.2 earthquake rocks Metro Manila.
The drill saw various crisis scenarios of the “The Big One,” the term used for a possible strong earthquake because of the expected movement of the Valley Fault System in Luzon that traverses several provinces as well as cities of Metro Manila, acted out.
The event, simultaneously held in Plaza Burgos in Vigan City Ilocos Norte, was spearheaded by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). (Photos and details by Mar Gabriel)
