PNP chief says narcopoliticians supporting terrorists have not been arrested
QUEZON City (Eagle News) — The Philippine National Police has recommended the extension of martial law in Mindanao, arguing that certain narcopoliticians who support local terrorists have not yet been arrested.
PNP Chief Ronald dela Rosa said a position paper detailing their recommendations was submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday.
He, however, did not say how long martial law should be extended in the position paper.
According to Senate President Koko Pimentel, senators will hold a closed-door meeting with security officials who will brief them on the current situation in Marawi.
Senator Richard Gordon believes the President will ask for the martial law extension to end the problem in Mindanao.
