PNP says at least six suspects eyed in Batocabe killing

(Eagle News)–Authorities are looking at the possibility at least six people were behind the killing of Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe.

Chief Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Special Investigation Task Group Batocabe, said in an interview over radio dzbb this was the information provided by the driver of the vehicle of the slain congressman.

“According to him, posibleng anim ang mga suspects dito because may tatlong motorsiklo na naghihintay prior nu’ng incident na ‘yun,” she said.

According to Calubaquib, the police have already secured footage from the area that could shed light on the incident.

Batocabe was shot as he was about to board his vehicle from a gift-giving activity in Daraga, Albay, on Saturday, Dec. 22.

The police said he sustained four gunshot wounds in the back and was declared dead in the hospital.

His bodyguard, SP01 Orlando Diaz, was also killed.
