MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Philippine National Police (PNP) plans to buy more than 12,000 body cameras capable of live streaming by June.
This is according to Chief Inspector Angel Beros, head of PNP’s technical working group after the conduct of a supplier’s meeting for the gadgets on Monday, February 5.
Beros said from the Php 334-million budget, the supplier should already provide the PNP with 12,476 body cameras, 175 body camera with livestreaming systems, 1,941 computer sets and 2,103 docking stations.
The official also said that once PNP receives the body cameras, it would give at least one body camera to each of the 1,766 police stations nationwide.
Aside from the equipment, the PNP also wants the supplier to provide training for the camera’s use, 24/7 service providers per region, a file security system, and an anti-virus software.
