(Eagle News) — The Philippine National Police- Anti-Kidnapping Group on Wednesday, November 29, urged the National Bureau of Investigation to come forward and prove what it said was the innocence of its agents in the kidnapping of a Korean businessman in Angeles City, Pampanga, instead of threatening to sue the police.
“Now, kung sila ay anghel lahat, the more dapat na they come forward. Pumunta sila dito, dalhin ang mga taong ito. Kung anghel ang mga taong ito, ipa-identify mo. Walang uwak dito. Pero dove dito, ito puro kalapati,” PNP-AKG director Senior Superintendent Glenn Dumlao said in a statement.
He said once there was an allegation, no matter how small, “it’s our responsibility as part of our accountability na (to) come forward makipagtulungan at prove otherwise.”
“‘Yon ang tamang gawin, hindi iyong kakasuhan ang PNP,” Dumlao said.
NBI Director Dante Gierran on Tuesday, November 28, said in a statement that it was mulling filing charges against the PNP after PNP Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa linked three NBI agents to the kidnapping of Lee Jung Dae, a South Korean national, last Friday.
Gierran said the statement was “based on unverified reports.”
