(Eagle News)– Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said on Thursday that they will continue their investigation on the killings of alleged drug lord Melvin Odicta and wife Meriam, regardless of loss of interest of the family members to file any case.
“Mag -investigate pa rin kami kasi that’s a crime, murder. Mag-investigate kami kahit hindi sila interesado, dapat malaman namin ang puno’t dulo. Negligence on our part yan kapag hindi namin inimbestigahan,” Dela Rosa said.
Bato added that they need the help of Odicta’s relatives, especially on the supposed drug matrix of their slain kin.
“Kausapin ko yung mga anak na magcooperate na rin sila fully. Kung mayroong matrix, ibigay sa atin. I will ask (Region 6 director Chief Supt Jose) Gentilles to talk to the children,” he said.
Dela Rosa emphasized that Odicta’s children should not be blamed and implicated whatever their parents did when they’re still alive.
“I will instruct the regional director to secure the children. Kawawa naman namatayan na ng parents. Kung ano man kasalanan ng parents nila kung meron man hindi naman siguro kasalanan yan ng mga anak.”
