(Eagle News) — Police placed on full alert status the whole of Metro Manila following a deadly explosion in a Davao City night market where 10 persons were confirmed killed on site.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director, Chief Superintendent Oscar Albayalde, said the move was a preemptive measure as police conducted checkpoints and more intensive intelligence gathering in the Philippine capital.
Albayalde said they are conducting random checkpoints in various parts of Metro Manila, including Makati and the airport areas.
He also called on the public to be more vigilant and to help police with any information they would have on any untoward incident.
