(Eagle News)—-Members of the New People’s Army attempted to lay siege to a municipal hall in Northern Samar on Friday, Aug. 10, the police said.
But according to the Philippine National Police, the police put up a stiff resistance and pushed back the group who tried the attack on the Lapinig municipal hall at 2:00 a.m.
PNP Regional 8 director, Chief Supt. Mariel Magaway said there were no immediate reports of casualties.
“An All Points Bulletin has been raised in the entire Samar Island to possibly intercept the fleeing group of communists terrorists…,” Magaway said.
He added all military units in Samar Island have been alerted as well.
