P01 Rey Boy Abrea is excited to receive his first pay for the year.
It’s because starting this month, he will be receiving more than his original salary, as promised by President Rodrigo Duterte.
P01s like him will now receive P29,668 as base pay every month.
The figure is exactly double their salaries the year before and perhaps the years before that.
“Malaking tulong po ito sa pagdagdag ng sahod sa P01. Makakatulong po sa pamilya at sa pagnenegosy,” Abrea said.
Policemen whose ranks range from P02 to SP04 will also feel the increase in salaries this month.
The hike, however, is not as big as the hike in the salaries of P01s.
P02s will receive an 82 percent increase, P03s a 72 percent increase, SP01s a 53 percent increase, SP02s a 45 percent increase, SP03s a 37 percent increase, and SP04s a 29 percent increase.
Police officials whose ranks range from police inspector to the police chief himself will also be given a salary hike.
“Bentahe ito sa mga magreretiro..Sasama ito sa retirement dahil base pay ito,” Chief Supt. Joselito Vera Cruz, executive officer of the Philippine National Police’s Directorate for Comptrollership, said.
