The weather bureau is closely monitoring a new low pressure area (LPA) off the Pacific Ocean.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said that this LPA could possibly develop into a tropical storm and that may enter in the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Friday or Saturday.
The state bureau said that once it enters the PAR, it will be given a local name of “Nonoy,” the 14th tropical cyclone this year.
