The Department Of Transportation and Communications said, President Benigno Aquino has signed deals that allow Philippine carriers to fly unlimited frequencies to and beyond the capital cities of the ASEAN member-countries.
DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said that protocols 5 and 6 of the ASEAN Multilateral Agreement in Air Services (MAAS) were inked on February 3.
This provides unlimited access to any point within the ASEAN area. The government targets to have new flights operational within the next six months.
It’ll provide more competitive and better airline services, as well as lower fares and broader options for passengers. (Eagle News Service)
