(Eagle News) — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., inspected the damage done by the strong magnitude 7 quake that shook Abra last Wednesday, July 27, and visited some of the injured who were being treated in hospitals.

During his visit to the quake’s epicenter in Abra on Thursday, July 28, the President also checked the condition of the provincial hospital and visited patients who were evacuated to the grounds of the hospital in the province’s capital of Bangued.

He also visited the evacuation center set up for those affected by the magnitude 7 quake that was initially reported by PHIVOLCS as magnitude 7.3.

He assured the people that the Department of Social Welfare and Development would take care of the needs of the evacuees, including food and temporary shelter.

Marcos also conducted an aerial inspection of the damaged areas in the province.

He had ordered the immediate repair of the damaged roads and bridges, as well as the power lines affected by the quake.

He was accompanied by his sister, Senator Imee Marcos, and by some of his cabinet secretaries when he visited the quake-damaged province.

The region continued to feel aftershocks a day after the strong tremor.

Meron na tayong telepono,” he said.
