President Benigno S. Aquino III asked the Department of Foreign Affairs to continue monitoring the rising tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran, with Presidential Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma saying that it is the government’s top priority to ensure the safety of overseas Filipino workers in the Middle East. Also, the President asked the DFA to formulate a comprehensive contingency plan.
