The President was welcomed by the Ambassador and several Spanish counterparts at the Torrejon airbase.
According to the President, his expects 86 engagements in his four-nation trip.
The President believes that his trip will strengthen the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and other countries.
He will next visit Belgium, then France, where he will sign the Philippine-France Defense Cooperation Agreement. He will then go to Germany.
The President will then fly to the United States where he will go to Boston, New York and San Francisco.
In New York, he will attend the the UN Climate Change 2014 and will visit the local Filipino community.
The President is expected to come back to the Philippines by September 25.
