Negative reactions flooded in after President Benigno S. Aquino III vetoed the law proposing a Php 2000-increase in the SSS pension for retired members. Senator Cynthia Villar expressed her beliefs that said action will negatively affect the campaign of administration candidates, especially Liberal Party standard-bearer Mar Roxas. According to Leyte Representative Martin Romualdez, President Aquino wasted the opportunity to leave a good legacy before leaving his position.
