President Duterte certifies as urgent measure seeking to provide healthcare coverage to all Filipinos

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has certified as urgent the measure that seeks to provide healthcare to all Filipinos.

Presidential Harry Roque said the President made the revelation in a Cabinet meeting on Monday, July 9.

With the certification, the measure does not have to follow the “three-day rule” between the second and third readings, which means Congress may immediately subject it to third reading as soon as lawmakers approve it on second reading.

The House of Representatives already passed a bill seeking to provide inpatient, outpatient and emergency care services, among others, to Filipinos.

A counterpart bill is pending in the Senate.
