President Duterte declares Nov. 13-15 as special non-working days in NCR, Bulacan, Pampanga

(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte declared November 13 to 15 as special non-working days in Metro Manila and the provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga, because of the Philippines’ hosting of the 31st Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) Summit and Related Meetings on those dates.

Malacanang released Proclamation No. 332, signed by President Duterte on Monday, October 23.

The Palace said that only Metro Manila, Bulacan and Pampanga are covered by the declaration as these are the areas that will be directly affected by the ASEAN Summit and other meetings.

“The various activities directly connected with the 31st ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, to be attended by ASEAN leaders and ASEAN Dialogue Partners, will be held in the NCR (National Capital Region) and Clark Field, Pampanga,” the Proclamation read.

The ASEAN 2017 National Organizing Council recommended November 13 to 15 to be declared as special non-working days in the NCR and the provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga because these areas will be “directly affected by the said activities,” it added.
