(Eagle News) — Catalino Cuy is the new Dangerous and Drugs Board chair.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed Cuy’s appointment paper on January 4.
Cuy, who was officer in charge of the Department of the Interior and Local Government prior to his appointment as DDB chair, will be replaced by former Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief Eduardo Año, who retired after reaching the mandatory age of retirement in October.
In the DDB, Cuy replaced Dionisio Santiago who resigned upon the President’s orders.
Duterte gave the instructions after Santiago went to the media and criticized the government’s construction of a mega-rehab facility in Pampanga.
Duterte said in subsequent speeches that Santiago should have told him personally about his apprehensions, instead of talking to the media first.
