(Eagle News) — The Marcos family want to subject their wealth to government scrutiny, and return some to the government, President Rodrigo Duterte said.
“(They said) we are ready to open and bring back pati ang a few gold bars,” Duterte says the Marcoses told him.
He said they noted that the gold bars were in their keeping “because their father was protecting the economy.”
“How much? (The Marcoses) will give me an accounting,” Duterte said.
He said he was “trying to look for a guy to handle the negotiations.”
“I’m looking at a former Chief Justice, a CPA, and maybe a representative accepted by all,” he said.
