President Duterte personally monitored Bong Go’s appearance at the Senate, says Roque

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that President Rodrigo Duterte personally monitored the appearance of Special Assistant to the President Bong Go in the Senate hearing regarding the controversial frigate deal.

It is President Duterte himself who ordered Go to attend the hearing in order to clarify the matter, especially the allegations made by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, on the frigate deal.

“Expect Secretary Go to tell all, and as instructed by the President, he would likely demand for an open and transparent Senate inquiry to show that he – and the Administration – has nothing to hide as he would squarely answer questions, in full view of the public,” Roque said.

On the other hand, Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said that the whole Cabinet is whole-hearted in its support of SAP Go.

Go himself said that the President told him to tell only the truth.
