(Eagle News)– Columnist and media executive Jose Manuel “Babe” Romualdez was reappointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as special envoy to the United States (US).
Malacanang confirmed the reappointment on Monday (July 10).
Romualdez declined the offered post on December 2016 as he was still about to undergo an operation in January because of an eye ailment.
Romualdez has since fully recovered and is now ready to assume the said post.
“We are confident that the re-appointment of Mr. Romualdez will usher in better PH-US relations and promote stronger cooperation between the two countries,” said Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella.
