QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) – President Rodrigo Duterte revealed alleged plans of terrorists to attack three provinces of Mindanao in a meeting with senators on Tuesday, August 1.
This was bared by Senator Vicente”Tito” Sotto on Wednesday, August 2, a day after the meeting in Malacanang with the President.
He said the President informed the leaders of the Senate and the House of Representatives, including the opposition of the situation in Mindanao.
“Meron discovered new plans of terrorists in other areas in Mindanao. He wants us posted on developments,” the senator said.
“Ang intindi ko around three areas are under threat,” Sotto added.
Sotto did not share any more details due to the sensitivity of the information.
“I’d rather wait for the President to tell you. Very sensitive issues and I’m not authorized to divulge,” he said.
Martial law in the whole province of Mindanao had been extended until December 31, 2017.
