(Eagle News) — After presiding over the change-of-command ceremony of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City, President Rodrigo Duterte will be flying to Brunei.
This was upon the invitation of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, who will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of his ascension to the throne at the Istana Palace.
The President will leave from Villamor Airbase in Pasay City around 6 p.m.
He will arrive in Brunei Darussalam around 8 p.m, based on the schedule Malacañang sent to reporters.
The President is expected to attend a gala dinner and meet Sultan Bolkiah, who will host a separate royal banquet tomorrow, October 6, for Duterte.
President Duterte is expected to return to Davao on Saturday, October 7.
Sultan Bolkiah ascended to the throne at the age of 21 on Oct 5, 1967.
The President first made a state visit to Brunei from October 16 to 18 in 2016.
