(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte urged Saudi businessmen to invest in the Philippines, saying the government would give them “the best incentives and best environment” it could offer.
“Anyway, business is business and anytime that you feel there is promise to business in my country, feel free,” he told the crowd he met in the Middle Eastern country, where he is on a two-day visit.
“We give you the best incentives and the best environment that we can offer for you,” he said.
He said the businessmen were “always welcome to visit the Philippines,” noting that “we will be honored.”
“I am honored by your warmth and by your hospitality, and by your reception and by your perspective of how the Filipino works,” he said.
Duterte left for Saudi Arabia on Monday afternoon.
He is set to proceed to the Kingdom of Bahrain on April 12, and will be there until April 14.
His last stop is the State of Qatar, from April 14 to April 16.
