MANILa, Philippines (Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte will skip the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) summit in Mongolia to be held from July 15 to 16.
Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Martin Andanar said, “the president wishes to stay close to his countrymen in the first few months of his presidency.”
President Duterte is just on his second week in office.
The ASEM is an exclusively Asian–European forum addressing political, economic and cultural issues with the goal of strengthening the relationship between the two regions.
