(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte is slated to visit areas in Pampanga that was badly hit by a 6.1-magnitude earthquake on Monday, April 22.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said apart from inspecting the areas affected by the quake, Duterte would attend a situation briefing on the tremor in San Fernando that resulted in at least seven people killed and 81 injured.
He said the chief executive had already given the order for the governors of the affected provinces “to assess the damage sustained by their respective localities and take the necessary measures to ensure public safety.”
The Palace suspended government work today to pave the way for a structural assessment of buildings following the quake.
“We assure our people that concerned agencies of the government are already responding and assisting those in troubled conditions and shall continue to do so for as long as necessary,” Panelo said.
